Once upon a life....

19th December, 2008. 2:07 pm. Funny things

Funny thing the kids have said lately:

September 2008
Annabelle was chewing on something as she walked  in to the room.
Jenny:  Annabelle, what is in your mouth
Annabelle:  Gum
Jenny: Where did you get gum?
Annabelle sticks her finger up her nose and says "like this"

December 2008
Annabelle:
"Upside Over" (means upside down)

Zeke
"oops Excuse me, I farted, I'm a gassy boy"

Annabelle
"Chick a Body"  (Shake your body, as she shakes and wiggles he little bum!)

Annabelle and Zeke:
Whenever any one bumps their head they say
"Bonkey Daddy Heady"

Even if its not Caleb

Current mood: cold.
Current music: silencce.

15th November, 2007. 9:59 pm. HAPPY FOR A BREAK

So I am well over due to post and so I should probably post something long, and meaningful........

But instead I'm going to say that I am happy that we are leaving for Illinois on Saturday. We will spend a week with the families. It will be super nice for a break for the following reasons

1. We haven't see our families in super long. I miss them, all of them.
2. Our kids are doing so many new things that our families haven't seen: it's nice to share our kids with their Grandparents.
3. . We have cute kids, and when we are around other people they tell us that and people telling us that , makes all their little annoyances seem so much smaller.
4. I have on average changed 20 diapers per day for the last week. That is what having a home daycare will get 'cha. I'm hoping to have at least one day over the holiday in which I change ZERO diapers in one day. :) Here's to hoping.

Current mood: chipper.
Current music: Ray Charles.

10th March, 2007. 9:56 am. A list

Is it pathetic that most of the things that I could even think of to put on my birthday wish list for Caleb were things for my kids or that have to do with kids? I guess since I spend so much time with the little munchkins I think about the cool gadgets, gizmos, and gear that would make my life as a mom easier or possibly more fun. Although I refuse to buy pointless devices like a wipes warmer, a bottle drying rack, or all name brand clothing for my children. I do try to keep up with the cool stuff that they sell for babies, and toddlers.

So with this I have created a list of useful baby items I own.

1. My new birthday Present (Thank You Caleb)
Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
I expect to use this one a lot for both outside and inside use. I have been dreaming of such a gadget that would keep my kids contained while we were on walks or in the mall, or at the zoo. It is not here yet but it looks like the nice weather is coming just in time!

  • FEATURES:
  • Safari 2 Double Stroller
  • Swivel front wheel - For easy mobility and maneuvering
  • Lockable front wheel - Wheel quickly locks in place for jogging
  • Lightweight steel frame - Lightweight for storage and easy to push
  • Retractable canopy - Provides extra sun protection
  • 16" Quick release rear wheels: 12" front wheel - For a smooth ride and compact storage
  • Recline seats - Great for nap time or seeing the road
  • One hand fold - For easy folding and quick transporting

2. Bumbo Seat
Image Hosted by ImageShack.usThis thing is great, It allows smaller babies to sit up. Annabelle loved sitting in it. It gave her a new perspective; she could see all around and be part of what was happening. We used this a lot when we were in the kitchen cooking dinner, or doing dishes. The thing says not to, but we would just put it up on the counter and have her sit there and watch everything that was happening. We don’t use it so much anymore because she can sit up on her own. But definitely a great purchase.

3. Johnny Jump Up

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us
Both of my kids have LOVED this thing. And since we have an extra wide doorway they can just jump and bounce all over. Zeke especially likes to pretend that Annabelle is in a swing, and see how high he can push her before I find out and bust him. That girl is going to turn out to be pretty tough, with him as a big brother!

Current mood: cheerful.
Current music: wii sounds.

9th March, 2007. 11:42 am. The Everything test

The Everything Test

There are many different types of tests on the internet today. Personality tests, purity tests, stereotype tests, political tests. But now, there is one test to rule them all.

Traditionally, online tests would ask certain questions about your musical tastes or clothing for a stereotype, your experiences for a purity test, or deep questions for a personality test. We're turning that upside down - all the questions affect all the results, and we've got some innovative results too! Enjoy :-)

Personality
You are more logical than emotional, more concerned about self than concerned about others, more religious than atheist, more loner than dependent, more workaholic than lazy, more traditional than rebel, more engineering mind than artistic mind, more idealist than cynical, more follower than leader, and more extroverted than introverted.

As for specific personality traits, you are adventurious (100%), religious (90%), romantic (71%).

Stereotypes
Young Professional82%
Prep77%
Hippie61%

Life Experience
Sex23%
Substances22%
Travel11%

Politics
Your political views would best be described as Socialist, whom you agree with around 78% of the time.
  Socioeconomic
Your attitude toward life best associates you with Middle Class. You make more than 0% of those who have taken this test, and 61% less than the U.S. average.

If your life was a movie, it would be rated PG.
By the way, your hottness rank is 62%, hotter than 88% of other test takers.

17th January, 2007. 3:10 pm. It's working

So we are into week 3 of Caleb and my fitness goal.  So far it is working.  I have lost 5 pounds so far.  The goal is for me to loose 15.   More than loosing weight for me it is trying to get rid of the extra pouch that once having a baby inside of you creates.  I like doing Tae-Bo it makes me feel powerful and it pushes me every time.  I loaned out my basic workout video (20 minutes) so I am stuck with the 40 minute version, probably a good thing since it pushes me harder.

So far I have been doing really good with not eating so much, and totally cutting down on the sweets and unhealthy snacks I was eating.  It is really helping that Caleb and I are doing this together.

Current mood: content.
Current music: zeke whistling as he sleeps.

8th January, 2007. 11:19 pm. Billy Blanks vs. Mari Windsor

We are now entering week 2 of our fitness challenge, and I am feeling pretty good about it.  Besides the fact that our scale doesn't always work (maybe a good thing)  I have made progress.  I met all my goals for this week.  I worked out 5 days this week, drank more water, ate much healthier, and dang am I sore.  Alright that last one wasn't really a major goal, but I knew it would hurt to get back into shape... but I forgot just how bad it hurt.

i have have decided that I am more of a Tae-Bo girl than a Pilates girl. I have tried both... they both have their advantages and disadvantages I'm sure.  But to put it simply I get bored with Pilates (at least the video I have).  And after trying to keep my calm all day with the kids I mostly just want to punch, and kick something.  Tae bo gives me that outlet!

Current music: the sound of online poker (caleb).

3rd January, 2007. 10:54 am. My Goals

Caleb ([info]pihsrow) and I have both decided to get in better shape.  We are keeping each other accountable for working out and the foods we eat.

My goal is to lose 15 lbs in 25 weeks.  And to lose 5 inches around my waist (mostly getting rid of the baby belly)

I plan to exercise 5 days a week.  Including 20 minutes of cardio.  And at least 10 minutes of crunches, lunges, squats, and leg lifts targeting my abs.

I plan to change my eating habits as well.

-Sensible breakfast

-health shake for lunch

-sensible dinner (increasing the amount of veggies, and fruits)

-only healthy snacks

-drink a lot more water

My major obstacles I think will be
-eating.  I am home all day long, and there is a lot of food here.  I prepare food for children a couple times a day and will need to resist the urge to stuff my face. I think the healthy snacks are going to be the hardest one for me.  I have already realized that I was eating way too much junk food, mostly sweets.  So I sent all the candy away, and am not going to make cookies or anything unless it’s a special occasion like small group, and then I will not bring them home with me.

-exercise.  I plan on exercising mostly at night after Zeke has gone to bed.  I may get distracted from my work out if Annabelle is not cooperating.

Other than that I am excited, and really happy that Caleb and I are doing this together.

I would welcome any tips from anyone who has experience and similar goals.

Current mood: optimistic.
Current music: kids "zeke saying no spitting".
